‘Amsterdam metro chip card-only in June’

Paper tickets on Amsterdam’s metro may be a thing of the past from June 25, according to news agency ANP.

The man in charge of the project to launch the public transport smart card in Amsterdam says the formal application to abandon paper tickets will be made to the transport ministry in April.
From October 1, buses and trams in the capital will also make the switch.
The Rotterdam metro has only been accessible to passengers with smart card tickets since January 29.
