Actress to court over mouldy new home
Film star Carice van Houten went to court yesterday claiming that the architect who sold her a luxury €1.2m home in Amsterdam did so knowing it was riddled with mould, reports the Telegraaf.
Van Houten says she is unable to live in the house which has slugs crawling over the ceilings.
According to the paper, the actress wants the court to overturn the deal and make architect Arrad Eschel, who built the house himself, pay damages. But Eschel says the damp problem in the house is not his responsibility.
The judge has suggested both parties call in an independent expert to settle the matter, says the paper.
