Telegraaf launches tv campaign

The Telegraaf newspaper group wants to set up a public tv company Wakker Nederland (wide awake Netherlands) and has launched a campaign to get the 50,000 members needed.

The tv station would be for the ‘silent majority, which supports standards and values and tradition without being attached to a politicial party’, the paper said.
The Telegraaf must have 50,000 members by April 1 to be considered for airtime in the public broadcasting system.
The Telegraaf Media Group also owns the weblog company Geen Stijl which is trying to launch its own tv channel Powned.
