Shoe-throwers arrested in Amsterdam

Police on Sunday arrested three people at the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam for throwing shoes at an Israeli army spokesman, report Dutch media on Monday.

Ron Edelheit, army spokesman during the recent Gaza war, was giving a lecture at the hotel when two male and one female member of the Dutch Palestine Committee threw their shoes. The committee says Edelheit was hit.
The three have been arrested for insulting behaviour.
In December 2008 an Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at former American president George Bush during his visit to the country. The journalist is currently on trial and has become a cult hero.
