Primary school assets reach €2.6bn

The 3,000 or so primary schools in the Netherlands had combined assets of €2.6bn in 2007, according to the teachers union AOb.

The schools also had €190m in unspent government grants, the union said, basing its claims on education ministry figures.
In total, educational institutes had some €10bn in reserves in 2007, a 5% increase on 2006.
A ministry working party is currently drawing up guidelines for school assets, news agency ANP says.
