NEC loses Uefa first leg
Nijmegen football club NEC lost the first leg of its Uefa Cup tie against HSV Hamburg 3-0 in front of its home crowd on Wednesday night.
The defeat means NEC’s chances of going through to the next round after the return match in Germany next week are almost zero, say observers.
FC Twente and Amsterdam’s Ajax both see Uefa Cup action on Thursday night.
