Dutch railways busiest in Europe
The Netherlands had the busiest rail network in Europe in 2006, reports national statistics agency CBS on Wednesday.
For each kilometre of track, Dutch Rail (NS) trains covered 20,000 train kilometres, over twice the European average of 7,000 train kilometres. Passenger train services accounted for 92% of the total.
