Union to take AH supermarkets to court
The CNV service sector union is to take supermarket chain Albert Heijn to court over the company’s proposed changes to the salary structure for part-time workers, reports NRC.
Under the new deal, part-time staff at AH stores, wine and spirits chain Gall & Gall and Etos drugstores (all owned by the Ahold concern) who work 48 hours or less in four weeks will be paid an hourly wage which includes all extras such as holiday pay.
According to the union the move contravenes both the law and collective labour agreements but the company denies this, says the NRC.
