Traffic jams get shorter in January

The number of traffic jams dropped by 14% in January compared with the same month in 2008, reports news agency ANP.

The morning rush hour saw a fall of 10%. In the evening it was 20%.
January is always a quiet month, says ANP with people away on winter sports holidays and less activity in the transport sector.
But this year’s exceptional drop in the number of jams may have something to do with the weather, with people taking days off to go skating, the agency said.
