Some 70 police officers are attending the first day of the trial of Franklin F. who is in court today charged with killing policewoman Gabriëlle Cevat in Amstelveen in July. They will follow proceedings from a separate hall at the Amsterdam court.
Cevat was 28 years old when she was shot last summer after approaching the defendant in his car and died shortly after being taken to hospital.
According to a report in the Telegraaf last year, the 49-year-old Franklin F. is known by the police for his connection to violent crimes.
