Patient donates €1m scan to hospital

A former lung cancer patient has donated scanning equipment worth €1m to the Martini hospital in Groningen, report various papers on Friday.

The gift was made by local businessman Dick Maan who died last year. A hospital spokeswoman told the Telegraaf that the PET-CT scan, which is used to treat tumours, is a ‘special gift’.
