Good and bad news for supermarkets

Dutch supermarkets had a good Christmas, with turnover increasing by 5.2% over the year earlier period.

The figures released on Thursday by research agency GfK also show that full year sales rose 6.2%.
But GfK points out that sales have begun to flatten out with an increase of 9.3% in the first quarter and just 4.5% in the final three months.
