Eleven-city skating race goes royal

The association which organises the ice-skating race around 11 cities in the northern province of Friesland has been given a koninklijk (royal) moniker to mark its 100th anniversary this year.

The last time the race was held was in 1997. Crown prince Willem-Alexander completed the 200 km event in 1986.
