Den Helder mayor under fire
Den Helder city council is holding an emergency meeting on Monday night to discuss the position of mayor Stefan Hulman.
The council paid him €3,200 a month to cover the mortgage on his old house in Rotterdam which he claimed to be unable to sell.
But it now transpires that Hulman had failed to declare additional income of €30,000 a year. He also owns a third house in Spain, news agency ANP said.
