Belgium’s Persgroep eyes up PCM
Belgian publishing company Persgroep has set its sights on taking a major stake in newspaper group PCM, the Financieele Dagblad says on Friday.
Persgroep already owns the Parool newspaper and is in negotiations to take over PCM’s AD media unit.
The Financieele Dagblad says PCM is under pressure from the banks to reduce its debts and sources say its main shareholder, the Democracy and Media Foundation, is either unable or unwilling to step in.
