Bass player wins top jazz award

Double bass player and composer Ernst Glerum has won the prestigious VPRO/Boy Edgar prize for his significant contribution to Dutch jazz.


The jury said he combined the ideal tone for composed music with the ability to play improvised jazz.
The 53-year-old receives a statuette designed by Jan Wolkers and a cheque for €12,500.
