AZ Alkmaar has good start to second half
Alkmaar’s AZ held on to its lead in the premier division with a 2-0 win against bottom of the league Volendam this weekend.
The match was the seventh in a row without a goal against AZ keeper Sergio Romero.
Amsterdam Ajax saw off NEC Nijmegen 2-4, with all the goals falling in the second half. Ajax remains in second place on 41 points, just three behind AZ.
Third placed FC Twente beat Vitesse 2-1 and remains seven points behind the leader.
Defending title holders PSV Eindhoven dropped points with a 1-1 draw against Roda JC of Kerkrade and have now sunk to fifth place.
Rotterdam’s troubled club Feyenoord, which lost its trainer and technical director last week, lost 3-1 to Heerenveen in their dual on Friday. That victory took Heerenveen into fourth place
