Amsterdam closed to polluting lorries
The owners of lorries which break Amsterdam’s new pollution rules will be fined €150 if their vehicles are used within the city’s ring road from today (Friday).
At the moment, lorry details will be checked by officials but from September, 70 scanners will be used to record vehicle movements in and out of the zone.
