Air France-KLM to up Alitalia stake bid
Air France-KLM is preparing to increase its bid for a stake in troubled Italian airline Alitalia to 25%, according to reports in French newspaper Les Echos. The new bid is worth €300m.
The French paper says the new bid is a reaction to an offer from German competitor Lufthansa.
In October Air France-KLM said it was investigating taking a stake of between 15% and 20% in Alitalia, with a value of €250m.
The Financieele Dagblad reports that Italian newspapers expect an announcement on January 10.
