Smoking ban top story for Dutch expats
Dutch nationals living in foreign countries have voted the ban on smoking in cafes and bars top domestic news event of the year, according to a Dutch world service radio survey.
The next most important event was government support for the financial services industry because of the credit crisis. The release of Geert Wilder’s anti-Islam short film Fitna was number three.
The station surveyed 1,000 Dutch expats.
