Reed Elsevier halts magazine unit sale
Anglo-Dutch publishing group Reed Elsevier has given up its efforts to find a buyer for its magazine operations because ‘at the moment, it is not possible to seal a deal with acceptable conditions’, the Financieele Dagblad reports.
The unit will now continue as a separate entity with the Reed Elsevier group and will be put up for sale again once market conditions improve.
The divison publishes some 400 titles, including the US entertainment industry bible Variety and Dutch magazines Elsevier and FEM Business.
