No al-Qaeda in Holland, says terror chief

The Netherlands does not have a current problem with national terrorist networks and al-Qaeda is not active in the country either, counter-terrorism chief Tjibbe Joustra told a tv programme on Sunday.

Nevertheless, the threat of a terrorist attack in Holland remains ‘substantial’, Joustra said.
Joustra, who leaves his post on January 1, said that the main threat to the Netherlands comes from international organisations. However, ‘we often forget that 99% of terrorist attacks occur in Islamic countries,’ news agency ANP quoted him as saying.
