Labour politician Jetta Klijnsma was sworn in on Thursday afternoon as junior social affairs minister.
She succeeds Ahmed Aboutaleb who takes up his post as Rotterdam mayor on January 1.
Klijnsma (51) was in charge of health, welfare and emancipation on The Hague city council.
