Mother jailed for €300,000 cancer con

A Dordrecht mother has been give nine months in jail for conning friends, relatives and well-wishers out of some €300,000 after claiming her baby son was dying of cancer.

The money was to be used for treatment at an American medical centre. But the boy was healthy and the money was used to buy cars, holidays and to pay for casino visits, the court was told.
