Lack of sleep causes depression

People who sleep too much or do not sleep enough are more likely to develop depression and anxiety, according to Rotterdam’s Erasmus University researcher Julia van den Berg, news agency ANP reports.


Van den Berg studied the sleeping patterns of 1,000 people aged 57 to 97. The link between sleep and depression is already well-known but this study makes it more explicit, ANP said.
