The Postbank and ING bank announced on Tuesday afternoon that they will cut their mortgage interest rates tomorrow by 0.1% for mortgages of between one and five years, reports news agency ANP.
The move follows comments on Monday night by CEO Bert Heemskerk that the Rabobank is poised to cut mortgage interest rates by at least 0.25%.
A spokesman for the Postbank, which is part of ING, said the move had nothing to do with Heemskerk’s comments. ‘We make our decisions based on developments in the money and capital markets,’ he told ANP.
