Department store Hema, one of the Netherlands’ most popular chains, will open its first branch in Paris in January, says the NRC.

It will offer the same products with the exception of foods such as smoked sausage and cakes.
Hema will be in direct competition with department store chain Monoprix and supermarket Carrefour, but will differentiate itself by its ‘own design private label products’, said a spokesman.
