Belgian wins ‘great dictation’ test

Flemish lawyer Luc Panis won Wednesday night’s televised national dictation test, the Groot Dictee der Nederlandse Taal. He made just eight mistakes.

The average number of mistakes among the assorted celebrities and ordinary people present in the studio was 34.
Since the Groot Dictee was read out in 1990, it has grown into an annual event. This year it attracted over one million viewers.
