Newspaper group PCM, which owns the Volkskrant and NRC, is investigating the sale of its AD Nieuwsmedia joint venture to Belgium’s De Persgroep.

AD Nieuwsmedia owns the AD and a number of regional papers and is co-owned by PCM and the Wegener publishing group.
De Persgroep already owns Amsterdam’s Parool newspaper and the Q Music radio station. In a statement, PCM said it hoped the talks would be finalised by the end of the year.
