Treasury loses €2bn in run up to tax changes

The revenue lost to the treasury because of tax breaks on exceptional medical expenses is set to reach €2.4bn this year, up €500m on an earlier forecast, the Volkskrant reports on Wednesday.


An overhaul of tax breaks from next year means many people are rushing out to buy expensive glasses or undergo eye laser treatment before the deadline, the paper says.
