Rare snowy owl spotted on Texel
Hundreds of bird watchers have flocked to the Wadden Sea island of Texel to catch a glimpse of a rare snowy owl, says the Dutch bird association.
The young female was spotted on Saturday. The snowy owl is a very rare visitor to the Netherlands, usually found in the far northern tundra region and Canada.
