Electronics concern Philips is to partly halt the production of electric razors in Drachten for six weeks from November 24 because of the worldwide economic downturn.

The measure will affect 600 of the 1,400 workers. They will be given other tasks during the period.
Steel maker Corus and chemicals and coatings firm DSM announced earlier that they too will close down some production lines temporarily.
