Over 100,000 Icesave claims made

Over 100,000 Dutch depositors with the failed Icelandic online bank Icesave have filed a claim for compensation with the Dutch central bank DNB, the Volkskrant reports.

Savings up to a maximum €100,000 per person are guaranteed under the central bank’s scheme.
Some 140,000 savers have money tied up with Icesave, which last month blocked savings accounts and ceased trading. Icesave is part of the Iceland bank Landsbanki.
