New evidence in Holloway case
The Aruban authorities are looking at new evidence in the case of US teenager Natalee Holloway who disappeared on the Caribbean island in 2005. Dutch student Joran van der Sloot is again considered to be the prime suspect, CNN reports on Thursday.
According to CNN, a new witness has emerged who can place Van der Sloot and his father, Paulus van der Sloot, near a pond on the island at 4am on the day Holloway vanished.
A former girlfriend of Van der Sloot has also come forward, as have two other witnesses, CNN reports.
The authorities hope the new tips will provde the corroborating evidence they need to make an arrest before the end of the year, chief prosecutor Hans Mos told CNN.
