Actor and director Jeroen Krabbé is to be Amsterdam’s official Sinterklaas (St Nicholas) when the current Sint, Dries Zee, retires, according to the city’s Parool newspaper.


Zee, a former police chief, has played the Sint – who according to tradition officially arrives in the Netherlands from Spain by steam boat at the end of November – for the past 10 years.
