Investment funds’ value falls 8% in Q3
The net valueof supervised Dutch investment funds shrank by €6.4bn (8%) in the third quarter of 2008 following investment write-downs and net withdrawals by investors, the central bank said on Wednesday.
The decrease was largely due to an average fall of 11% in share prices.
The write-downs and withdrawals have made the funds’ net worth contract by 28% over the five quarters since the beginning of the financial turmoil, the central bank said.
