Cabinet reverses decision on data-bank
The cabinet has withdrawn a decision by former Labour integration minister Ella Vogelaar to scrap a controversial plan to set up a data-bank on young Antillean and Aruban trouble-makers, according to various media reports at the weekend.
Vogelaar was forced to resign on Thursday partly due to her party’s dissatisfaction at her decision to scrap the scheme.
Labour leader Wouter Bos said other cabinet members had not been consulted about Vogelaar’s decision.
The former minister has publicaly criticised Labour’s tough stance on integration.
