Amsterdam’s Ajax moved to the top of the football premier league after a convincing 4-1 home victory over the reigning champions PSV of Eindhoven on Sunday.

AZ Alkmaar, who had held the number one spot, only managed a 1-1 draw away to Vitesse in Arnhem on Sunday. As a result AZ slumped to fourth place, two points off the lead.
NAC Breda are now second, following their convincing 3-0 home win against Heracles of Almelo on Friday.
Meanwhile FC Groningen moved into third spot by easily beating De Graafschap of Doetinchem 3-0 at home.
Rotterdam’s Feyenoord failed to move out of the lower half of the table after their 1-1 draw away to FC Twente on Sunday.
