Ajax coach buys most expensive house
Marco van Basten, coach of Amsterdam’s Ajax football club, has bought the most expensive house in the city, according to press reports on Thursday.
The detached villa with its 600 square metres of living space on the Oranje Nassaulaan close to the Vondel park, was on the market for €6.8m.
It is not known how much Van Basten paid, but according to official information, he took out a €6.5m mortgage last month.
