A woman died in a huge fire in an apartment complex in De Kwakel, about half an hour south of Amsterdam, on Monday night, report various media.

The fire started shortly before 11pm and spread through the nine flats and the entrance building. Two neighbouring buildings were also evacuated.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
