Trading in the shares of slimmed-down financial services group Fortis resumed in both Amsterdam and Brussels on Tuesday.

But investors were not impressed by the new-look group, and the share price fell to as low as €1.78 in late morning trading. Fortis was last traded on October 3, when it closed at €5.41.
All Fortis’ banking activities and Dutch and Belgian insurance activities have since been sold, meaning the company has undergone a ‘complete metamorphosis’, Fortis said in a statement.
The group is now made up of its international insurance activities, a 66% stake in a structured credit portfolio and a number of other financing activities.
