The Netherlands rises on competition index
The Netherlands has risen from tenth to eighth place on the latest World Economic Forum’s competitiveness index. The increase is due largely to improved efficiency on the Dutch labour and goods markets.
‘It is still difficult to sack people in the Netherlands, but we do a lot better than other European countries in terms of the cost of redundancy, cooperation between employer and employee and flexible working,’ Henk Volberda, a professor at Erasmus University’s school of management and WEF researcher told the Telegraaf.
