Police back electro-shock weapon
Some 80% of Dutch police officers support the introduction of electro-shock weapons, or tasers, in the Netherlands, reports Wednesday’s Telegraaf, quoting a survey by the Christian police union ACP.
The weapon, which delivers a charge of up to 50,000 volts, would help stop violence against police officers, the union says. Trials of the taser are due to begin shortly.
