Noord Holland had €78m in Landsbanki

The province of Noord Holland had €78m invested in Iceland’s Landsbanki bank, the NRC reports on Wednesday.

At least 14 local and provincial councils are known to have invested a total of €200m in the bank. The home affairs ministry is still assessing the final figure.
Landsbanki is now under Icelandic government protection and all accounts have been frozen.
Private and small business accounts are covered by a €100,000 Dutch government guarantee but local councils are not.
