Labour needs help of entertainment guru

The Labour party is considering asking Joop van den Ende, the entertainment billionaire, to act as its ambassador in communicating the importance of foreign development aid, reports the Volkskrant.

The Labour foreign aid minister Bert Koenders is under increasing pressure as more and more people question the need for development aid, which is usually an important vote-winner for the party.
Labour hopes Van den Ende will be able to put the issue back in a positive light.
