Jobless don’t have to pack tubes of glue
Unemployed people do not have to accept just any job, a court in Arnhem ruled on Wednesday, according to the Volkskrant.
The case was brought by an unemployed man whose social security benefits were cut after he refused to accept a job packing tubes of glue into boxes or weeding flower beds.
The court said local councils had to look at each individual person’s needs before making them take part in a labour market reintegration project, the paper reported.
