Household spending up slightly
Household spending rose by 1.9% in August, according to figures released on Friday by the national statistics office CBS.
This is slightly higher than the 1.3% growth noted in July.
Most of the money went on household appliances and shoes, says CBS, where spending rose by 4.5%. But spending on food and drink fell 1.1%.
