Hospitals lax on hygiene say inspectors
Hospitals are too lax about hygiene standards in operating theatres, says the health inspectorate in a new report out on Friday.
For example, staff do no always follow guidelines on washing their hands or wearing proper clothing and the air in theatres is often not sterile because there is too much traffic going in and out, the report says.
