Former CEO ‘wants a job’ at ABN Amro

Rijkman Groenink, former CEO of ABN Amro, would like to return to the bank, reports Thursday’s NRC. He made the remark to the American press bureau Bloomberg.

Groenink told Bloomberg there is no one in the Netherlands with his experience of banking and of ABN Amro in particular, says the NRC.
No approach has been made to Groenink by the bank and he will not apply for a job, says the paper.
Groenink presided over the takeover of ABN Amro by Royal Bank of Scotland, Banco Santander and Fortis. He left last November with a €26m golden handshake.
