Dutch woman’s body found on Bonaire

Police have confirmed that the body of missing 24-year-old Dutch woman Marlies van der Kouwe has been found on the Dutch island of Bonaire in the Caribbean.


The body of Van der Kouwe, who was doing an internship as a pharmacy assistant on the island, was found by the police on rough ground close to where she was seen being dragged off her bike four weeks ago.
The chief suspect in the case, the 27-year-old Ryan P, denies any involvement in Van der Kouwe’s death but remains in custody. Three other suspects have also been arrested and two of these are also still being held by police.
